If you are a beginner guitarist:
Well, a good price for beginning is 70$. Ofcourse,
this prize is low, so your guitar won't be excellent but it will be good
enough for your home. You gotta look at it well. If its fingerboard is
from a different guitar, then you gotta know that probably the previous
one had been broken. If you're musical then just play something on the
lowest riffs and the same thing on higher riffs. If it sounds bad than
just kick it up. And another thing. You gotta see when the guitar is on
if it has some kind of strange noises without touching the strings.
If you are an advanced guitarist:
Well, go to the shop and you shouldn't buy
a guitar which prize is lower than 150$. If it's prize is lower than this
one, then it has some kind of a big problem. But you gotta have a guitar,
good enough, for a school-concert. So the prize you gotta pay will be a
little higher. O.K. Now lets see the guitar itself: you gotta put your
finger on the 12th riff, but don't press it, just place it on the 12th
riff. Then hit the strings one by one. If there is a little sound coming
from them (it means that the strings shouldn't sound muted) then you gotta
know that the middle of the strings is OK (the middle of every string is
the 12th riff). So your strings are alright. Lets look at the sound. Put
it on and turn the volume at 7 rate minimum. If you hear noises when you're
mutting the strings then it's not a good one because when you put the guitar
through a Distortion then these noises will be bigger than before. But
if the sound of the guitar is OK then pay attention to its volume and tone
controls.Hit one string and turn every control up and down. If you hear
noises when you're turning the control up and down then you won't be able
to use them on your concerts because when you try to mute your guitar down
there will appear the noises and it will be very unpleasant even annoying.
